Grupo de Sistemas Inteligentes
(Intelligent Systems Group)

The initial steps in research from the members of the Intelligent Systems Group (GSI by its name in Spanish: «Grupo de Sistemas Inteligentes») were in the early 90s, through the development of expert systems for the supervision and diagnosis of continuous industrial processes; these systems were tested in the beet sugar factories sector in Castilla y Leon through several funded projects. Its creation takes place in 1997 as a research group recognized by the Departamento de Informática of the Universidad de Valladolid, and it was accepted in 2004 as a GIR (Grupo de Investigación Reconocido or Recognized Research Group) by the University of Valladolid.
